OUR LATEST FLOAT KITS:
The aim of our new STANDARD kits (SPK) is to provide builders with the highest quality, lowest-cost set of professionally designed aluminum aircraft floats possible. These kits are not as advanced as our older, discontinued "Pre-Drilled" kits (they also cost less), but they are more advanced (and cost a bit more) than our also discontinued "Basic Parts" kit. Although the parts in our new kits are now almost all CNC-cut and pre-drilled for accuracy and consistency, some holes will still need to be drilled during the assembly process. A few parts in the new Standard kits (mostly extruded keel parts and aluminum angles) will also still require cutting or trimming prior to assembly. Since mid-2022, these STANDARD kits have now replaced all of our older Basic and Pre-drilled kits (which are no longer manufactured).

ASSEMBLY MANUALS...
Below is a sampling of the many assembly manuals that builders will be able to download from the Zenair Floats Tech-Support website once they have received their kit. These step-by-step assembly manuals complement the assembly drawings that come with each kit.
Note: Full access to the online manuals is only granted to Zenair customers who have purchased a complete Zenair float kit; a password is necessary to enter the site. Qualified customers may request the passwords for free by following these simple steps. Thank you for your understanding.

In addition to these factory-supplied manuals, customers can also purchase the independently produced Building Your Zenair Floats DVD available from HomebuiltHelp.com (see below).
SAMPLE PICTURES:
The following pictures illustrate the assembly process for a typical Zenair float kit, including the jigging required to facilitate the assembly. Note: Details will differ depending on the size of the floats, type of kit, and if the floats are "straight" floats or "amphibious" floats (with wheels)...

Although based on Zenair's older, less-advanced Basic Parts Kits (BPK), the "Building your Zenair Floats" DVD by US-based HomebuiltHELP.com is still a great tool to assist with the jigging and the assembly of newer Standard Parts Kits (SPK).
When assembling from a new Standard pre-drilled kit, you'll be able to skip all the marking and drilling that was required with the Basic Parts Kit (BPK) illustrated in this DVD... I many cases, you'll be able to simply use the predrilled skins in the new kits as templates for drilling, with virtually no measuring or marking of individual holes necessary... The DVD also offers more guidance regarding the application of corrosion-protection and the provided 3M sealer between the parts.
